Community Survey Coming Soon

Community Survey: Coming Soon!

The District and School Board need our community’s input on long-range facilities planning. If you live within the district boundaries, a survey will be mailed to your home this September. We encourage everyone to complete the survey by October 11, 2021!

Why is the District conducting a survey?

In Wild Rose, our focus will always be on helping students succeed in an ever-changing world. As we look to the future, we know there are challenges ahead, including the need to update our facilities. Last year, the School Board began this process by hiring an outside firm to conduct a comprehensive review of our buildings and grounds.

While our schools are well-maintained and have served us well, the facilities study identified areas for educational improvements and maintenance upgrades in the following areas:

  • Improved Safety, Security, and Accessibility

Ensuring safe, healthy, and accessible facilities is a top priority. While our buildings are secure, there are important improvements that could be made to better monitor and control visitor access.

  • Aging Infrastructure

The District has worked hard to maintain our buildings within our annual operating budget. However, some major building systems including heating/ventilation, electrical, and plumbing are at or have exceeded their useful life, resulting in inefficiencies and potential costly repairs. Portions of the roofs and windows are old, inefficient, and need replacing.

  •  Outdated Educational Spaces

Many of our classrooms, labs, and tech ed spaces have not been updated since the 1990s. Some classrooms are small and lack the flexible learning environments needed for large-group instruction, small-group collaboration, and project-based, hands-on learning.

What is the purpose of the survey?

The purpose of the Community Survey is to gather everyone’s input on a potential plan to improve our educational spaces for today’s learners and for the next generation. The survey will help the District and School Board decide which projects should be funded in the near future.

To collect feedback, we are working with School Perceptions, an independent, Wisconsin-based firm with expertise in conducting school district community surveys. All survey data is returned to School Perceptions and all responses are confidential.

When will survey results be available?

Survey results will be presented at the School Board meeting on October 28, 2021, and will also be available on the District website.
