On Thursday, November 30, 2023, at approximately 2:12 p.m., the Wild Rose Fire Department was dispatched to a roof-top fire on the active construction site at Wild Rose Middle/High School. The fire was extinguished, and students and staff were evacuated. No students or staff were injured in the incident and will return to school as scheduled tomorrow. Two employees of a subcontractor are being medically treated—one has been flight-lifted and one is being treated locally. The origin of the fire is unknown at this time. Professionals will remain on site throughout the night to ensure the fire does not reignite. The project team is cooperating with local authorities to investigate the damage. Our main concern at this time is for the individuals involved, their families, and the team members on site.

The School District of Wild Rose would like to thank all of the organizations and departments that responded and assisted with the incident, specifically The Wild Rose Fire District, Saxeville Fire Dept., The Wild Rose Police Department, Waushara County EMS, Waushara County Sheriff's Dept, and Miron Construction.

Everyone's effort to assist and work through the incident is greatly appreciated.
